SUMMARY:Christmas Eve Luminaria
DESCRIPTION:As in the past\, we will meet at the driveway of Scott and Ingrid Busch – 3400 Karnes at about 8:30 am\,December 24.  We have 1600 candles\, 50 bags of sand and as many bags to fill and distribute.  Coffee and donuts will be on hand.\n\nThis year we will have plenty of sand.  We will ask for one more step in our process – one of pulling the wick on the candle up as the candle is slipped into the bag.\n\nI will have a few plastic tarps for vans and trucks in the hope of keeping the bags dry and minimizing mess in vehicles.\n\nYoung people are welcome to help\, however we will only have adults placing luminary bags on the trafficway and around the Hospice House.\n\nThose placing the bags are asked to also set the candle in a vertical position.  This takes a little longer\, but it will be a big help to those who will be lighting the candles.\n\nAt 4:30 pm we will need volunteers to light the candles.  Mr. Allen – candle lighting marathon man will not be available for lighting.  We will need at least two people extra to make up for his absence.\n\nI recommend anyone lighting candles should purchase two propane fire lighting devices  for each person lighting.  Rationale on this is to place one against your body to keep it warm and switch them as the temperature gets cold enough to diminish the propane flame.\n\nOnce the task is complete and the candles lit – I wish all to sit back and enjoy this work of art in the best manner possible.\n\nI look forward to seeing you all\, and a great thanks to Scott and Ingrid for allowing us use of their drive and garage.
