SUMMARY:Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:This year’s annual meeting will be Saturday morning\, November 7th at 9AM in the Westport-Roanoke Community Center gymnasium.\nThe neighborhood association will be hosting 2 guest speakers about neighborhood safety and nearby midtown developments.\n9:00 AM\nOfficer Andy Hamil\, Central Patrol Division Community Interaction Officer. Officer Hamil will be speaking about safety concerns and the best ways to ensure community patrolling (spoiler alert: report all crime to the police by calling 911 – they won’t know about it unless we report it and if we aren’t willing to report it\, they know we wouldn’t put forth the effort to support prosecution if suspects are caught).\n\n9:30 AM\n\nDennis Bradley\, Principal with b+a architecture. Mr. Bradley is the principal architect of the proposed MGE redevelopment on Broadway (34th-35th) called the Midtown Plaza.  He will be conducting an informational presentation on the proposed development\, which centers upon upscale\, high-density housing.  Check out some info here before the meeting: www.baarchitecture.com/projects/midtown-plaza/15BRO\n10:00 AM\n\nBoard presentation on summary of annual activities and finances. SUMMARY:Veterans Day Public Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:As the commemoration of World War I Centennial continues\, there is no place more fitting to recognize and honor those who have served their country on Veterans Day than at the National World War I Museum and Memorial. Join the Museum in recognizing veterans on this special day as admission is free to the public courtesy of Jackson County Executive and Jackson County Legislature. A public ceremony featuring dignitaries occurs at 10 a.m. with the Museum partnering with Disabled American Veterans/Red Racks Thrift Stores for a donation drive from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

SUMMARY:Curbside Leaf and Brush Pickup
DESCRIPTION:Curbside Leaf and Brush Collection Rules:\n\nSacks and bundles should be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the regularly-scheduled trash day.\nNo more than 20 sacks and bundles per household.\nSacks and bundles must not weigh more than 40 pounds each.\nUse only paper lawn debris sacks. No plastic bags.\nIf you seal the sacks\, use masking tape only; do not use plastic or duct tape.\nNo grass clippings. No trash.\nAll branches must be bundled. Branches must not be more than 3 inches in diameter.\nBundles of branches must not be more than 2 feet in diameter and not more than 4 feet long.\nUse twine or jute rope to tie bundles; do not use wire or plastic tape.\nIf wet weather is forecast\, cover sacks and bundles with clear plastic.\n\nIf sacks and bundles are not collected on the scheduled trash day\, residents must call the 311 Call Center within 24 hours.
