Around the World Porch Parties

October 24 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Greetings, Coleman Highlanders!

If you’ve lived here a while, you know what’s coming. If you’re new, welcome, and also, buckle up. It’s almost time to pack our bags (read: walk a few blocks) and travel Around the World again.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 24th, at 5pm, when Coleman Highlands sets out on our annual trip around the globe, one porch at a time. Here’s how it works if you haven’t joined us before: we pick four fabulous, far flung “countries,” each one hosted at a different home on a different porch. We spend about an hour at each stop, sampling beverages and snacks native to that destination, before we hear the “now boarding” call and stroll on to our next port/porch of call. No passport required. Comfortable shoes highly recommended.

Over the years, Coleman Highlanders have set up camp all over the map, including:

  • Belgium, Hawaii, South Korea, and France (2025)
  • Mexico, Greece, and Italy (2023)
  • Spain, Great Britain, and Canada (2022)
  • Japan and Guadalupe (2019)
  • Vietnam, Texas (yep, some say it’s a country!), and Sweden (2018)
  • Serbia and Polynesia (2017)
  • India and Brazil (2016)
  • Jamaica and Germany (2015)

Here’s the thing about a trip like this: it doesn’t happen without pilots. And that’s where you come in.

The world is your oyster for 2026. We’ve got one host/country already signed up, but we still have 3 more. Your chance to stake your flag before someone else beats you to Portugal. We’re looking for neighbors willing to host a porch or a “country” this year, and we’d love for it to be you.

Here’s the secret we’ve learned over a decade of doing this: the best porches aren’t the fanciest ones. They’re the ones where a neighbor or two teamed up, picked a place that sounded fun to research, and didn’t put too much pressure on themselves. A few pitchers of something appropriately themed and a snack or two goes a long way. This is neighborly fun, not a competition, and we mean that.

If you’re interested in hosting, or if you’d like to co-pilot with someone else who might want the company (or the moral support), email Amy Bhesania at . If you’re stuck on a destination, our team is happy to help you brainstorm.

We can’t wait to see where Coleman Highlands travels this year, and we hope you’ll be part of the itinerary.

From your stewards of neighborhood good times (and self-appointed Directors of Tourism), Sara Harms, Amy Bhesania, Jessie Kidwell, and Kelly Lee

Thanks so much!
