Coleman Highlands Neighborhood Yard Sales

Saturday, June 14th is the date for this year’s neighborhood yard sales. If you’d like your address to be listed here, on social media, and in our June newsletter as a participating location, please contact us! We’ll have red signs up and down Karnes a few days before June 14th announcing the upcoming yard sales, but feel free to put up your own signs indicating your specific sale address.
Participating Addresses
The following addresses have confirmed that they’ll be participating in the neighborhood yard sale on Saturday, June 14th. Some residents may be holding their yard sales for longer than just Saturday and may have different “operating hours”. So make sure to cruise the neighborhood for individual sale signs for details.
944 West 32nd Ter
3405 Karnes Blvd
918 w 34th St
928 W 32nd Ter
942 W 32nd Ter
Rules for Participation
There’s no rules. Just have a yard sale on Saturday. You can start your yard sale Friday and run it through Sunday if you want to, but the official date of the Neighborhood Yard Sale is Saturday, June 14th. You can run your any hours that work for you! Standard yard sale hours seems to be in that 9-5 range, but we’re not making any laws about what hours you can run your own yard sale – everyone’s got busy lives and have their own schedules they need to work with. ☺️
A couple recommendations:
- To ensure good foot traffic, please put signs out with your address, dates, and hours of your sale.
- Post on social media, Nextdoor, etc for more reach (you can share our page’s post if that’s easiest).
Donating Leftover Yard Sale Items
There are many local charities that would love to receive your donations! Below are just a few.
Redemptorist Center: Free Curbside Pickup of Clothing, Household Goods, Toys, Books, Furniture, etc.
This year Coleman Highlands Neighborhood is partnering with Redemptorist Center for curbside donation pickup. If you have leftover items you’d like to donate after the yard sales are over on Saturday, you may place them at the curb and label them “Redemptorist Center Donation.” The Redemptorist Center will send a van to collect donations. The center will take just about anything usable that you would like to donate—clothes, household items, furniture, toys, books, etc.
Flourish: Furniture Bank
Flourish offers free furniture for low income families. They do charge for furniture pickup because the furniture they provide to families is given to those families free of charge, so they do need to offset the costs of vehicle maintenance and furniture transport. Find out more about Flourish and how to schedule a pickup.
Scraps KC: Arts and Crafts Supplies
Our friendly neighborhood crafting thrift store down on Roanoke, Scraps KC, takes donations of any usable craft items. Art and fabric paints, brushes, screen printing supplies, yarn, fabric, papers and canvases, drawing supplies, woodworking tools and supplies, office supplies, classroom supplies for teachers, and more! You’ll have to deliver these to Scraps, but it IS just down the way and if you need help getting stuff there, please contact the Coleman Highlands Board and one of us will be happy to help you deliver.
Habitat Restore KC: Home Improvement Items
Habitat Restore KC will take donations of building materials, fixtures, and appliances in good working condition, as well as furniture, interior and exterior paints, and hardscaping/landscaping materials like pavers, garden edging, lawn decor and statuary, etc. You can schedule a free pickup or drop items off at one of the local Restore locations (the Deramus location is probably the closest, and that’s also around the corner from both household hazardous waste drop-off, one of our recycling centers, and also the Missouri Organic leaf and brush drop-off, so if you’ve got a lot to get rid of after your yard sale, you can do it all in one trip).
