Trash and Recycling Information
Bulky Item Pickup
City-provided bulky item pickup appointments are currently booking 2-4 weeks out. Appointments can be booked by calling 311 (816-513-1313) or by submitting your request online at city.kcmo.org/kc/bulky. Plan ahead! Codes Enforcement will issue citations for abandoning bulky items on the curb without a pickup booked.
Recycling Refreshers
See what can and cannot be collected curbside at kcmo.gov/city-hall/trash/recycling
- Recyclables should be loose, not bagged– those bags of recyclables will get diverted to trash at processing
- Flatten cardboard boxes (no water damage or food stains) and remove excessive tape/staples
- Trash/grocery bags, film/packaging or shrink-wraps, and cellophane are not recyclable
